GLD - Gold Trust (ETF). Tracks the price of gold bullion. The prospectus states that GLD owns physical gold bullion and can be swapped for actual gold if you own enough shares. 0.40% expense ratio.
GDX - Gold Miners (ETF). The investment seeks to replicate as closely as possible, before fees and expenses, the price and yield performance of the AMEX Gold Miners index.
